Week 28   Day 6

Throughout our lives

            we all get our turn

            to suffer

            and to rejoice.

The Preacher had an argument with God

            the righteous

            and the wicked

both experience the same things in life

            whether suffering or joy

He called that evil

            probably meaning unfair

Jesus used the expression

            "It rains (or it doesn't rain)

            on the just and the unjust."

Jesus didn't seem to be bothered by that

            so I guess we shouldn't be either.

                               THE CAROUSEL OF TIME
      Don't worry; be happy.  Learn to live before you die.
                                  Ecclesiastes 3,  9 & 12

     1To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose

     under heaven:

     2     A time to be born, and a time to die;

            A time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted;

     3     A time to kill, and a time to heal;

            A time to break down, and a time to build up;

     4     A time to weep, and a time to laugh;

            A time to mourn, and a time to dance;

     5     A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones;

            A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

     6     A time to gain; and a time to lose;

            A time to keep, and a time to throw away;

     7     A time to tear, and a time to sew;

            A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

     8     A time to love and a time to hate;

            A time of war, and a time of peace.

     9What profit has the worker from that in which he labors?

10 I have seen the God-given task with which the sons of men

are to be occupied.  11He has made everything beautiful in

its time.  He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one

can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.

     12Nothing is better than to rejoice, and to do good, 13and

also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good

of all his labor--it is the gift of God.

     14 I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever.

Nothing can be added to it, and nothing taken from it.  15That

which is has already been; and God requires an account.

     1 I considered all this in my heart.  2All things come

alike to all:  One event happens to the righteous and the wicked;

to the good, the clean, and the unclean; to him who sacrifices

and him who does not sacrifice.  As is the good, so is the sinner.

3This is an evil in all that is done under the sun:  that one

thing happens to all.

     9Live joyfully with the wife whom you love all the days of

your vain life for that is your portion in life.  10Whatever your

hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or

device or knowledge in the grave where you are going.

     1Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth,

before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when

you say, "I have no pleasure in them."
