Week 47   Day 7

Even amid trials and persecution

 let the PEACE of God

                        rule your mind

                               your thinking

                        and guard your steps

To survive life's battles

            LOVE and unity

            are essential

We do not live the christian life alone

            we have each other

                        gaining strength from others

                        and giving strength to others

This life will soon end

            HOPE in God

Even now claim heaven as your home

and know that the best is still to be

When you wonder about JUSTICE

            or the lack of it

remember that is what heaven is for

And by all means WORK before you eat

This holds both

            literal and

            symbolic meaning.

                                      PERSECUTION

God is just and will deal with those who trouble you.

                                II Thessalonians 1 & 3

3We thank God always for you, because your faith grows

exceedingly and your love abounds.  4We boast of you

among the churches of God for your patience and faith in

all your persecutions and tribulations, 5which is manifest

evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be

counted worthy of the kingdom for which you also suffer.

6 It is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation

those who trouble you, 7and give you who are troubled rest

with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with

His mighty angels, 8in flaming fire taking vengeance on those

who do not know God, and do not obey the gospel of our Lord

Jesus Christ.  9These shall be punished with everlasting

destruction from the presence of the Lord.

1Finally, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run

swiftly and be glorified, 2and that we may be delivered from

unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith.

3But the Lord is faithful, who will establish and guard you

from the evil one.  4We have confidence that you do and will

do the things we command you.  5The Lord direct your hearts

into the love of God and into the patience of Christ.

6 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, withdraw from every

brother who walks disorderly and not according to the tradition

which he received from us.  7You know how you ought to

follow us, for we were not disorderly among you; 8nor did we

eat anyone's bread free of charge, but worked with labor and

toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you,

9not because we do not have authority, but to make ourselves

an example of how you should follow us.

10Even when we were with you, we commanded you this:

If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.  11For we hear

there are some who walk among you in a disorderly manner,

not working at all, but are busybodies.  12Such we command

and exhort through our Lord Jesus Christ that they work in

quietness and eat their own bread.

13Do not grow weary in doing good.  14 If anyone does not

obey our word in this epistle, note that person and do not keep

company with him, that he may be ashamed.  15Yet do not

count him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

16Now may the Lord of peace give you peace always in

every way.  18Grace be with you all.  Amen.
