Week 50   Day 6

See how well you do with the following questions:

It may reveal some things about

how you are doing in the areas of

                unity

                love

                humility

                forgiveness

Do I feel at home in a group of Christians who are different than I am

in age, economic condition, level of education,

            race, culture, or upbringing?

Can I listen to people even though I don't agree

with what they are saying or doing?

Am Iable to disagree with people without being disagreeable and angry?

When my plan of action is rejected and someone else's is adopted,

am I able to work toward making their plan of action successful?

Do I appreciate diversity as a good thing and acknowledge

that people possess many different gifts and

express their faith in many different ways?

Above all, love each other

This is a consistent message throughout the Bible

and one we need to hear

            again and again

Fervent love stretches out

            to touch another

                        it is intentional love

                        which results in

                        purposeful actions

            it is sincere in motive

                        diligent
                        and persevering.

                           REPAY EVIL WITH BLESSING

Be full of joy and thanksgiving that you bear Christ's name.

                                          I Peter 3, 4 & 5

8Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for

one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous;

9not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the

contrary blessing.

8Above all things have fervent love for one another, for

"love will cover a multitude of sins."  9Be hospitable without

grumbling.  10As each one has received a gift, minister it to

one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

12Beloved, concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, do

not think some strange thing happened to you; 13but rejoice
to
the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when

His glory is revealed, you may be glad with exceeding joy.

14 If you are reproached for Christ, blessed are you, for the

Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.

17The time has come for judgment to begin at the house

of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of

those who do not obey the gospel of God?

1To the elders among you:  2Shepherd the flock of God,

serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for

dishonest gain but eagerly; 3nor as being lords over those

entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; and when

the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of

glory that does not fade away.

5Likewise younger people, submit yourselves to your elders.

Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed

with humility, for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to

the humble."  6Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty

hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7casting all

your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil

walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

9Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same

sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

10May the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory

by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect and

establish you, strengthen and settle you.  11To Him be the

glory and the dominion forever and ever.

12By Silvanus, our faithful brother, I have written to you.

13Mark my son greets you.  14Greet one another with a

kiss of love.  Peace to you all who are in Christ Jesus.  Amen.
