Week 30   Day 6

God is a God of the Gentiles too

         anyone who joins themselves to the Lord

                to serve him

                to love the name of the Lord

                who keeps the Sabbath and

                holds fast to the covenant

         will be saved

Everyone is included in God's invitation.

God is doing a new thing

            and Isaiah paints the picture

There are four cornerstones

            justice

            compassion

            righteousness

            peace

and joy is ever present.

                    FREEDOM, FASTING AND JUSTICE
       Share whatever you have with whoever needs it;
                           it's good for them and for you.
                                        Isaiah 56 & 58

     3Let not the son of the foreigner who has joined himself to the

Lord, say, "The Lord has separated me from His people";

Nor let the eunuch say, "Here I am, a dry tree."  4The Lord says:

"To the eunuchs who keep My Sabbaths, and hold My covenant,

5To them I will give in My house and within My walls

A place and a name better than that of sons and daughters.

I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off.

    6"Also the sons of the foreigner who join themselves to the

Lord, to love and be His servants--7Even them I will bring to

My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer.

Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on My altar;

For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.

     1"Cry aloud, lift up your voice like a trumpet;

Tell My people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

3'Why have we fasted,' they say, 'and You have not seen?

Why have we afflicted our souls, and You take no notice?'

In fact, in the day of your fast you exploit your laborers.

You fast for strife and debate; to strike with the fist of wickedness.

Would you call this a fast, an acceptable day to the Lord?

     6"Is this not the fast that I have chosen:

To loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens,

To let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?

7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,

And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out;

When you see the naked, that you cover him.

     8"Then your light shall break forth like the morning,

Healing shall spring forth speedily, and righteousness before you;

The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.

9Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;

You shall cry, and He will say, 'Here I am.'

If you take away the yoke from your midst;

The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,

10 If you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted,

Then your light shall dawn in the darkness.

    11The Lord will guide you continually, satisfy your soul,

And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden.

12You shall raise up the foundations of many generations;

You shall be called the Repairer of the Breach,

The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In."
