Week 22 Day 2
the lady told me she was a grandmother
and with that revelation there was a transformation
she lit up
she was delirious with delight
the man nodded his head affirming his grandfather status
but his response was a little more controlled
he treasured the response of his wife
he grinned over the joy of his wife
he smiled lovingly at his wife
he delighted over the one at whom he gazed
two people taking wonderful delight
in their grandchildren
and in each other
and treasuring that experience
God's response to us is something like that
for God takes great delight in us too
because we are precious to him
because he loves us
because he honors us
because he abides with us
our God delights in us
take joy and rejoice in that
CIRCUIT-RIDING TEACHERSThe Lord is with you wherever you go, so do what is right. II Chronicles 17, 18 & 19
1Jehoshaphat his son reigned, and strengthened himself
against Israel. 2He placed troops in all the fortified cities of
Judah, and set garrisons in the land, and in the cities which
Asa his father had taken. 3The Lord was with Jehoshaphat,
because he walked in the former ways of David, he did not
seek the Baals, 4but sought the God of his father, and walked
in His commandments and not according to the acts of Israel.
5Therefore the Lord established the kingdom; all Judah gave presents to Jehoshaphat, and he had riches and honor in abundance. 6His heart took delight in the ways of the Lord;
he removed the high places and wooden images from Judah.
7In the third year of his reign he sent his leaders, Ben-Hail,
Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Michaiah, to teach in the
cities of Judah. 8With them he sent Levites and priests.
9So they taught in Judah, and had the Book of the Law of
the Lord with them; they went throughout all the cities of
Judah and taught the people.
12After some years he went down to visit Ahab in Samaria.
3Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, "Will you go with
me against Ramoth Gilead?" And he answered him, "We will
be with you in the war."
28So the king of Israel and the king of Judah went up to
Ramoth Gilead. 33Now a certain man drew a bow at random,
and struck the king of Israel between the joints of his armor,
and about the time of sunset he died.
1Jehosphaphat returned safely to his house in Jerusalem.
2And Jehu the son of Hanani went out to meet him and said,
"Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the
Lord? 3Nevertheless good things are found in you, in that
you have removed images from the land, and have prepared
your heart to seek God."
4Jehoshaphat went out again among the people from
Beersheba to the mountains of Ephraim, and brought them
back to the Lord God of their fathers. 5He set judges in the
land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city,
6and said to the judges, "Take heed to what you are doing,
for you do not judge for man but for the Lord. Take care
there is no partiality, nor taking of bribes." 8He commanded
the chief fathers, saying, "Act faithfully 11 and behave
courageously, for the Lord will be with the good." This Bible passage was condensed from the NKJV
